A novel approach
On Thursday, Jan. 22 at 9 p.m. EST, our host explores the thrills and benefits of the defunct Classics Illustrated comic books. As the comic-book world exploded in the ‘60s, a publisher made a bold and serious move to keep classic literature alive by producing comic book interpretations of traditional novels. Now collectors’ items, the remnants of these books are the stuff that lifted the art of comics to the intellectual and socially conscious level of the new millennium.
