The King and I

King Kong is a misguided metaphor, the ultimate example of how literary criticism works and, at a less academic level, a symbol that transcends the character. Three times, the story of this 'prehistoric ape' has come to the silver screen and each time he has represented another theme, changing allegories as quickly as the image of Jesus changes in religious literature to suit the current generations. So why is Kong such an appealing figure to us all? His life, his love, his tragedy, is something to which we all relate. Join our host at 9 p.m. EST, bring your notebooks, brains and beverages.
