Losers and winners

A duo of topics for readers today. First, where was I the night after the Oscars? It involves Kevin Kline (pictured), Kevin Spacey, Robin, Whoopi, Mel, Woody and the biggest loser of 2007. And, of course me. This story should arouse your curiosity.

Read it here.

And, my Decision: 08 series continues at The Cheers with a scalding report on John McCain's current status in the campaign.

Back on line

All is well at Podomatic once again, so go here to stream the Feb. 22 show if you need to stream. Also, the stream for that program is at MySpace. And, you can hear the show at 3 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Wild Bunch Radio.

And the ...Japan novel is back up and ready to read as it tumbles to a conclusion, which most feel will wind the spectacle up by mid-spring. Archives can keep you busy if you need to catch up; new posts are scheduled each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Repairs in order

There is a delay posting the Feb. 22 show at Podomatic due to a glitch in their system. Check in there now and then to see if it is fixed. That glitch affects the MySpace stream, also, so hang on for that convenience.

Meanwhile, you can download the show or the feed here, using the links on the left-hand column. And while you are waiting, order the Turk Berain book.

Be in touch!

Another Crackpot page

The mysterious figure who is--or was--named Crackpot Hooligan, is the continuing subject of an in-depth biography. Page two is now available here. And here. And here. And here. Any one of those clicks gets you there. Pictured is a box of what was reportedly Hooligan's favorite breakfast meal, Cream of Lint (curtosy L.J. Michelich).

For those of you following the ...Japan novel, there is a glitch at the blog that is delaying the posting of new pages. Hang loose, the rip-roaring conclusion is in progress and when the text returns you will be able to follow this journey to its satisfying result.

It's The Return of Turk Berain, a collection of stories featuring "the detective known to everybody as someone else." It is filled with dialogue, drama and loads of laughs in the tradition of classic detective fiction.

Running on empty

Beginning this Wednesday, Feb. 14, The Cheers Magazine presents special coverage of the 2008 Presidential race by the man whose name adorns the title of the program.

Frank Cotolo's exclusive coverage--in the unique style that engines Cotolo Chronicles' hours of news, information, conversation and insubordination--is the way political doings should be covered; with verve, humor, insight, stream of consciousness, objectivity and serious attention to the folly of politics.

The likes of Obama, McCain, Giuliani, Clinton, Romney, Biden, Dodd and anyone else tossing hats are followed through the gauntlet of the pre-primary season and through the primaries with random abandon. Check it out weekly.

Bad news, followed by Ferry good news

Due to a last-minute call for superior make-up, Matt Mungle has to bow out of our Feb. 8 program. He will be on the show soon, though, so watch this site for future appearances.

We are trying to get the wonderful, talented April Ferry to do the Feb. 8 program. Ms. Ferry is a veteran costume designer who has most recently worked on the popular, celebrated series called Rome. She was nominated for an Oscar for Maverick, the Mel Gibson-Jodie Foster movie.

So check here tomorrow for confirmation.

The Monday muse

Across the country a deep freeze has set in, with the exception of the warmer spots in the country. And, of course, the country I mean the U.S.A.

And, make no bones about this, it is Monday all over the place and today's muse reminds us that marriage is a tender thing, ready to burst, crumble and spin in a fatal swirl at any moment. Even as you read this, hundreds of marriages are teetering on the brink of crumbleation [sic] and the battles that follow do so with dead certainty. Which is why today's muse reminds us that all marriages are alike in their burstability [sic].

Welcome to America

America is a great big country and yet there are people who know nothing about it and even less. Among the many states the country offers are wonderful things that everyone can enjoy. Miss USA (pictured) said it best when she said, "Aw right, pass the lines, babe!"

Getting to know America is not difficult. This is not a country of complexity. In fact, a jigsaw puzzle of America is so simple even a caveman can do it. Still, you will need a guide.

So, I have developed a few essays for people smart enough to read but not smart enough to know much about the U.S.A. To read one, click here.

'Dusty' roads

It's the first Thursday and the first day in February as the second of the seventh season of the new millennium continues. On tonight's show, two veteran journalists, authors, radio personalities, racetrack bums and controversial voices meet to shoot the cyber breeze. Dusty Nathan (pictured, click name for website) joins Cotolo and the two Fourth Estate bohemians crack open a conversation that pours like oil.
