The King and I

Billed as 'The Eighth Wonder of the World,' King Kong has become a cinema legend, with two remakes of the original classic. When it opened, however, the movie in all of its magic was a flop except for a particular audience that cheered the mighty ape. Through the decades things changed and pop culture's look at Kong changed metaphor and might. How do you interpret Kong?
