Cotolo missing from 'generous' list

LOS ANGELES (Reuters and other sources) - American talk-show host Oprah Winfrey topped a list of the 30 most generous celebrities.
The list, compiled by The Giving Back Fund, a group that seeks to encourage philanthropy, put Oprah in the top slot with gifts of $50.2 million in 2007 for education, health care advocacy for women and children worldwide.
Second place went to trumpeter and A&M records co-founder Herb Alpert (pictured right). His Herb Alpert Foundation spent $13 million on education.
Singer-actress Barbra Streisand came third in the list with $11 million donated by The Streisand Foundation to the environment, women's issues, civil rights, AIDS research, and advocacy.
Alternative-broadcasting star Frank Cotolo was nowhere on the list and was miffed. "I physically forced people to watch Oprah in The Color Purple, I made Herb change the name of his band from the Newark Brass to the Tijuana Brass, I never told anyone Streisand's character in Yentl was really a girl and that is just the start of why these celebrities owe me big time. Still, none of them stood up for me when it came time to call me generous."
