The K factor
From 1958 until 1967, Murray “the K” Kaufman ruled the airwaves of New York. Today he lives on in radio history with the legacy he left behind – taking musical performances out of television studios (20 years before MTV), putting rock on FM, and adding multimedia at nightclubs and discos. He was instrumental introducing The Beatles (see photo) in the U.S. and keeping their Beatlemania machine running.
Murray's son, Peter Altschuler, is the Sept. 7 guest.
