Flood of opinion

Well, we are a bit tardy posting but we never expected any part of Hurricane Ivan to get in the way of our menial tasks here. Still, the edge of that storm, downgraded to a Pain In The Ass Storm, took out major electrical devices here in Southcentral Pennsylvania and left us without power for most the weekend.

We're back.

So yesterday, out on the field, I talked with a Bush supporter. As I indicated on Chronicles, I approach every political supporter being an "undecided." That way, I get the full attention of the person. Here's a bit how it went.

"Why should I vote for your guy?" I asked.
"Because the other guy is a dope," he said.
"Well don't tell me what the other guy is, tell me what your guy is."
"Our guy [he points to a Bush-Cheney bumper sticker he has been carrying] is doing all good things."
"What about the war?" I said.
"What about the war?" he said.
"You all for that?"
"I disagree with some things about it. But we had to do it, that guy was doing things that could have led to attacking us."
"How could he have attacked us even if he had the weapons they never found?"
"We went in and stopped him, we had to."
"But was this war really worth it?"
"Ahhhhhhhhhh," he said and stomped off.

It is fun being an undecided. I will talk to the Kerry people next.
